As buddha said, "No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again." This is my mantra and motto because I understand beginning again. I set my goals based on the complex situations I faced as younger teen.
Since I immigrated here, I always felt like I was standing awkwardly between two cultures. I struggled to learn English my first year of high school. I did not know anyone. Everything was unfamiliar especially at a school with over 5,000 students. I could never rely on my parents because they were worried about building a new life and had their own struggles. I relied upon myself and this gave me time to consider what I wanted to do, who I needed to become, and how I needed to achieve these goals to succeed.
After I completed my ESOL studies, I realize that I really wanted to explore the medical field. I had a great opportunity to take academy courses in tandem with my core studies at Lake Braddock. I chose the Pharmacy Technician program and so began my path. Currently, I'm studying to become a pharmacist's assistant and am working on my certification. I hope to work in a pharmacy this spring.
By attending the college, I will be able to maximize my potential in the medical field and make great contributions to my community during and beyond graduation. I believe that being a college student will help me to become what I am meant to do in the world.
