Introduction:
The generator separates hydrogen and oxygen from water; it uses electrolysis, which is “the passage of an electric current through an electrolyte with subsequent migration of positively and negatively charged ions to the negative and positive electrodes” (electrolysis, 2016). An electrolyte is “a melted or dissolved compound that has broken apart into ions” (electrolyte, 2016).
Electricity + 2H20 → 2H2 + O2
