Rescued from an ice floe, Victor Frankenstein tells a remarkable story of his troubled life. After an idyllic childhood, he goes off to pursue his university studies, where his intelligence and thirst for knowledge soon become visible. All his skill and energy are soon devoted to his obsessive search to create life. After many experiments that horrify even him, he succeeds in creating life. He is appalled by what he\'s done and runs; his creation disappears, and only gradually does it become obvious that in creating this being and disappearing, Frankenstein has brought danger to those all around him.
